Play Therapy for Children & Youth

What is Play Therapy?

Play therapy uses play, art and creativity to help children to express emotions, process experiences, and develop healthy coping skills. Children can express their concerns through play much more readily than through talk therapy.

Often, children draw what they are feeling inside or they might represent their experiences or feelings symbolically. People may think that Play therapy is simply play but play in play therapy is much more than that.

Play therapy is based on evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches and can help children problem solve, work through distress, learn to cope with big feelings and develop coping strategies (amongst many other benefits.)
